Washing and maintenance Washing and maintenance
Maintenance instructions

Most bathing gear is composed of elastic, strong and comfortable material partially consisting Lycra (Spandex/Elasthan). Lycra is an extremely elastic fibre that ensures a perfect fit. However Lycra is sensitive to constant influences from harmful substances such as sun lotions, shampoos, transpiration and water cleaning agents such as chlorine.

In order to keep your bikini or bathing suit beautiful as long as possible and prolong its durability, we advise you to take notice of the following points.

Washing instructions
  • Do not leave your humid bathing gear in a bag or moist towel after use. This could lead to staining the colours.
  • Rinse your bathing gear in tap water after every use, to wash off chlorine, salt or suntan lotion. This is the most important point to extend its durability.
  • Hand wash with cool water and use mild, neutral soap
  • Do not use a tumble dryer, nor wring/twist after washing, but squeeze out the excess water
  • Hang out to dry in the shade, preferably in open air. Do not put to dry in direct sunlight, since this can affect the colours of the fabric.
  • Strongly chlorined water can have a bleaching effect on the fabric. Therefore it is advisable to, before sun bathing, immediately rinse off chlorine and salt with tap water.
  • Fluorescent colours will fade quicker in bright sunlight and chlorine compared to other fabrics. The longer exposed to bright sunlight, the quicker the colour can fade. Therefore we do not provide guarantees against fading/staining as a result of the sun or chlorine.
Below mentioned suggestions can extend the durability of your bathing gear
  • Do not wash your bathing gear in the automatic washing machine and do not tumble dry. The stretch material can be damaged.
  • Do not bleach and do not dry clean
  • Do not iron.
  • Do not use separate stain removers. Those are often too aggressive.
  • Do not store while still humid, since this can stain the colours of the fabric.
  • Avoid whirlpools, steam baths and saunas. Especially bikinis and bathing suits with reflective material can be damaged.
  • Avoid direct contact with suntan lotions or oils. Suntan lotions/oils can damage elastics and stain fabrics.
  • Avoid contact with rough surfaces such as slides, pool sides, walls, rocks, etc. Since the bathing gear is made of stretch material (spandex/lycra), this could lead to ‘pilling’ of the material.
Complaints following incorrect use and maintenance will not be taken in consideration.
